Natalia and Arthur
Samana
Born and raised in Poland, they decided to escape from the cold winters to the country of eternal summer — the Dominican Republic. Newlyweds were both working in an excursion agency in Punta Cana. They travelled a lot around the island so they chose an interesting and unpopular location: private villa at Samana. Natalia did an incredible job- she organized every single detail of the wedding by herself. She was following me for a long time on Instagram. One day they just made an appointment for me and this is how the journey started.
Samana is a peninsula in the north of the Dominican Republic. It is famous for being the location for blue whales’ honeymoon and for its outstanding landscapes: mountains, cliffs, small islands. It takes 6 hours to get there from Punta Cana by car. But trust me, it’s so worth it!
It is one of the weddings I’ll remember because of the authentic atmosphere. The Day came and everybody was so relaxed and enjoyed it to the fullest. Arthur chose a strict black suit while Natalia opted for a traditional white classic lace dress.
First, newlyweds had a Catholic ceremony in the beautiful old church. After that the reception took place at the private villa on the coast of the Caribbean. It was just fabulous for many reasons: the sun sets right in the sea on this side of the island so the light was just perfect, the location included the terrace and a pool.
I had just one special request from the couple: “Feel absolutely free to do your thing. We just need all the real emotions to be captured”. This is actually the reason why all couples pick me.
The pictures from that wedding are now proudly displayed in my portfolio and I am beyond happy with this journey. Polish culture is so similar to Ukranian and Russian so I really enjoyed every single minute as I was a guest, not a photographer.
